The education department at the Modern shows appreciation for area educators by offering this special series on the third Wednesday of each month. These Evenings offer educators an opportunity to spend time learning about modern and contemporary art through gallery tours, lectures, and creative studio projects. The Winter 2007–08 series focuses on selected works from the Modern’s special exhibitions Declaring Space and FOCUS: Joshua Mosley, along with Selections from the Permanent Collection. Each Evening features a guest presenter who leads the event, offering his or her unique insight as a contemporary artist, museum professional, or art historian. Teachers of all disciplines and levels are welcome to attend. Evenings for Educators begin at 6 pm in the museum lobby. The schedule for Winter 2007–08 is listed below. Please note: RSVP is required.

MAY 7, 2008 – Please join us for our last Evenings for Educators! Art Historian and UNT professor Dr. Jennifer Way will talk about the work in the Modern’s current exhibition, FOCUS: Kehinde Wiley.

Continuing Professional Education Credits

The Modern is certified by the Texas State Board for Educator Certification to offer Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Credits. All Evenings for Educators qualify as CPE activities, as do many tours, lectures, studio classes, and workshops offered through the Modern’s education department.
