Emergency Artists’ Support League (EASL) Announces
September 7, 2007 in Fort Worth
The Emergency Artists’ Support League (EASL) is a volunteer committee, founded in 1992, that seeks to raise and distribute funds to artists in need. The committee provides emergency financial assistance to visual artists and art professionals throughout North Texas during times of unforeseen medical emergency or dire temporary distress by awarding monetary grants. EASL also helps artists negotiate their medical bills. EASL has given over $250,000 to more than 125 artists in the past 15 years. All funds are distributed confidentially, as EASL strives to maintain the artists’ anonymity and dignity. Contributed funds are held for distribution by the Communities Foundation of Texas, Inc., Dallas, Texas. Visit www.easl.us for more information.

The 2007 EASL Coloring Book is published in honor of EASL’s 15th anniversary. Two previous coloring books published in 1992 and 1994 are now collector’s items with just a few still available. All funds raised by the sale of the coloring books go to help North Texas artists in need through the EASL grant program. More than 60 artists have donated original line drawings for the coloring book.
