The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth considers its docent program to be a valuable contribution to our community. The Museum is seeking volunteers who would like to share their knowledge and enthusiasm with visitors.

The benefits of being a Modern Docent include an in-depth training program, a complimentary Museum membership, invitations to special events, early notification of program offerings, and opportunities for continued education.

Spring Break Art Camp Volunteer

In the spring of 2012, the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth will offer its popular Spring Break Art Camp. This program is designed for 3rd and 4th grade students from select Fort Worth Independent School District elementary schools. The entire Art Camp experience is fueled by the energetic dedication of six volunteers (two artists’ assistants and four classroom assistants). Applicants chosen for these positions will develop a special relationship with campers, artists, and Museum staff, all while learning about the Modern’s permanent collection and special exhibition, Glenn Ligon: AMERICA. Responsibilities include: helping with students’ group activities; assisting during studio projects; helping artists prepare materials; preparing and installing the end-of-camp student exhibition; and various other jobs throughout the week. Spring Break Art Camp volunteer opportunities are open to mature and serious students, ages 17 and up, with an interest in art and mentoring to young children. An informal interview is required for all applicants.
